TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The leader of Iraq’s Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba, part of the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) supervised by the Baghdad government, issued a warning following an attack in northern Iraq that resulted in the deaths of five members of the resistance movement.

Sheikh Akram al-Kaabi said in a statement on Monday that the United States should anticipate further severe attacks by Iraqi resistance forces targeting American bases and interests within the Arab country, responding to the recent airstrike that claimed the lives of Nujaba fighters in Kirkuk.

Kaabi said assaults by Iraqi resistance groups against US forces will persist until their complete expulsion from Iraq. This declaration followed the announcement by US forces late Sunday regarding their targeting of a site in Iraq used for launching drone attacks on US bases in Iraq and Syria.

Iraqi resistance forces on Sunday launched dozens of drones to strike the Al-Asad Airbase in western Iraq, where US forces are stationed, and an American military base in al-Khazra village deep within Syrian territory.

Over the past two months, Iraqi resistance forces have initiated numerous attacks on US forces in Iraq and Syria, aiming to compel Washington to cease its support for ongoing Israeli aggression against Palestinians in Gaza.

These assaults are part of a broader regional trend of anti-US and anti-Israeli actions, echoing since Israel’s incursion into Gaza in early October. This broader pattern includes strikes on targets in occupied territories by the Yemeni army and Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance group.

Additionally, Yemen’s military has seized a vessel believed to have ties to the Israeli regime, warning that any ships linked to Israel departing from Yemeni ports are considered legitimate targets.
